Several of you have asked about our favorite camping spots lately. Let's start with one that is close to Austin, Inks Lake State Park!
Inks is a first come, first serve park however you still have to make a reservation. These photos are from Mother's Day 2015. I drove out early Friday morning and was picked a spot (Dustin and the kids drove out after work). I went for a long run and then READ THE REST OF THE DAY. It was an amazing start to the weekend.
My favorite cabins, 6 through 11, were already occupied. We usually tent camp, but there was a huge chance of rain so we decided to rent a cabin instead (hello air conditioning)!
A few of my favorite tent/rv sites are 315, 311, 317, 333, 349, 345. They do have other water/electric waterfront sites that are all pretty amazing (I cannot remember which sites are my favorites).
They have hiking trails, flat trails and even walking around the park is breathtaking. If you have kids, there are plenty of places to pushup the stroller and ride bikes. Take a hike Devil’s Waterhole for a swim or when the Valley Spring Creek is running, you can explore scenic waterfalls upstream of the lake. There should be plenty there with the recent rains.
This lake is perfect for boaters because you can leave your boat pulled up to your campsite. If you don't have a boat. You can rent paddle boats, kayaks and canoes from the general store.
There is a lot to do around the area as well if you want to venture out of the state park and explore!
Don't forget that we have a portion of our Into The Woods collection is going toward our Texas State Parks this summer!
Go out and enjoy some woods!
**You might notice some tee ball pics in the album. Inks is still so close to Austin that we were able to make it back to play Will's final game of the season and then head back to our campsite.
